The 2nd Vice President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Dr.  Aaron Ami-Narh, has gently cautioned all Christians to ensure their lives conform fully to the Word of God. He stressed that biblical faith must be demonstrated through obedience to God and action in the Church.

Delivering a powerful message, at the 2026 Conference of Heads of Church and Organisations at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) on 4th February 2026. Apostle cautioned believers against interpreting Christianity to be a mere routine prayer, casting of demons, confession, or outward religious activities without corresponding to godly lifestyle.

Christianity is not only Prayer

He quoted Matthew 7:21, where Jesus states that “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.” According to him, belief and prayer alone are not sufficient; obedience to God’s will is central to Christian living.

He drew attention to what he described as a growing tendency, particularly in Western Christian thought, to overemphasize grace at the expense of righteous living. “Grace has not abolished good works,” he emphasized. “Rather, grace must produce good works.”

Drawing from Ephesians 2:10, Apostle Ami-Narh who is also the President of  The Apostolic Church- Ghana, explained that believers are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for them. He noted that while salvation is by grace through faith and not by works, true salvation inevitably produces good works as its fruit.

All children of God must conform to the character of God,” he stated. “When you become a child, you must resemble the one who gave birth to you. It is a shame when a child is completely different from their parents. It is an honor when the children resemble their parents.”

Study the bible and live by it

Apostle Ami-Narh further observed that many Christians study the Bible but do not to live by it, they only teach it. He stressed that bible teachers who not live by the word weaken their authority and empower to witness. Citing the examples of Jesus and Ezra, he noted that they both committed first to the word of God before teaching it. “You will not have the moral right to speak to others about what you are failing to do,” he said, adding that the Spirit of God does not flow through disobedience.

He clarified that good works do not earn salvation but are the visible expression of faith, love for God, and love for one’s neighbor. Good works, he explained, are not thoughts, intentions, or dreams, but deliberate actions that align with God’s Word—simple obedience that brings glory to God.

Referencing Matthew 5:16, Apostle Ami-Narh stressed that good works must be visible so that people may glorify God. “Some say their worship is in their hearts and should not be judged by works,” he said. “But Jesus says, ‘Let people see it.’ God must be glorified through what we do.”

He also warned that ungodly behavior among Christians bring reproach to God’s name. Quoting 2 Samuel 12:14, he explained that King David’s ungodly behaviour gave occasion for God’s enemies to dishonor him. “Our good works glorify God, but our evil works cause His name to be dishonoured,” he noted.

God’s Kingdom

Concluding his message, Apostle reiterated that kingdom of God is reserved for those who do his father’s will. “Doing the will of God is believing in Jesus Christ and doing good works for mankind,” he said.

He urged Christians to embrace a lifestyle of obedience, integrity, and godliness, reminding believers that the Christian faith is not only something to be confessed but something to practice.
